Abstract
Using two questionnaires, one for the impression of Nagahama City of Shiga Prefecture on residents, storekeepers and visitors and another for landscape structure on visitors and photographs on residents and storekeepers, the attractiveness of the region, which has been flourishing as a tourist resort was analyzed. In conclusion, we clarified that the attractiveness of the region is based on a feed-back system, in which landscapes improved by residents and storekeepers become tourist attraction sites, creating a lively and active atmosphere which in turn results to enhanced vigor and demand to create improved attraction and activity sites.
