Abstract
This study deals with the relationship between population recovery and changes of habitation style in Tokyo inner area in 1995-2000. The conclusions are as follows; 1) Owned houses and private rented houses have increased almost the same. Unmarried single households account for two-thirds of increased owned houses and almost all of increased private rented houses. Population increase is not connected with family household increase. 2) Through the analysis of small district, population has increased in about half of districts of Tokyo inner area and those increases are correlated with condominiums supply gently. In the area of no condo supply, about 13.5 thousand people have increased. Through case study, small detached houses and private rented houses have been constructed dominantly there.
