Abstract
Though peripheral area of city center that specializes in the residence function should keep the sustainability for residential area, the method for sustainability have not found yet because of the diversity of the characteristics of residential function. Therefore we clarify the relationship between household and housing stock after grasping the diversity of the characteristics of peripheral area of city center, and examine the existing housing stock and the improvement technique from the viewpoint of the diversity of household and the sustainability of residential area. As a result, we show that the improvement of the housing is necessary for the young family household who want to live in detached owner house.
