Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the conception of urbanism for Brasilia in Lucio Costa’s Winning Plan, through the use of the comparison with “Urbanisme” written by Le Corbusier, including making sure that Brasilia is planned according to the modern town planning theory. 1) 191 key-sentences extracted from Winning Plan can divide to six categories. 2) 88% of “idea”, 92% of “image”, 82% of “function”, 56% of “technology”, 87% of “design” and 89% of “others” correspond with “Urbanisme”. 3) The measure of correspondence is classified by three degrees, there is the most of “the very same” in “idea”. 4) The principles of town planning showed in “Urbanisme” are to be found in almost every urbanism for Brasilia.
