Abstract
This study is to analyze the accessibility for forest and the placement of forest for landscape and urban planning. For this purpose, we propose FAI and PFAI based on RA. Using these methods, this study is applied to land cover analyzed by Landsat TM data in 3 wards in Kawasaki City and 6 wards in Yokohama City in Tama Hills. The results were as follows. 1) RA and FAI were useful methods to analyze the distribution of forest and urban area. 2) PFAI was useful method to find the best placement changing to forest. 3) We found the characteristics of the distribution of forest and urban area in the applied wards using these methods.
