Abstract
Declining town centre is one of the issues in Japan, however, residential population is already flowed out to the suburbs, and less attractive shops are remained. The city which has tourist attraction is short-listed of them for tackling this issue. However, the city without tourist attraction, have required producing new tourist attractions, such as local dishes. This paper deals with town centre revitalization with local resources, and attempts to clarify how they effectively worked to the local attractiveness. The paper firstly reviews declining situation and local attractions, followed by the analysis of local foods. From the analysis, cooperation with various sectors including private and public sectors, the integration of the new facility developments and route making along the new attractions are highly important to the declining town centre without tourist attractions.
