Abstract
Recently, the social concern to border space has been growing in urban planning field. This space has a potential that unites several urban spaces, and improves their quality. So, this study aims to make sure the connection at the border space, lying between representative city park and downtown area in Osaka. This study analyzed the shaping process of the border space around Utsubo Park and the connection between Utsubo Park and downtown area on the standpoint of site use and space configuration at the border space. Main conclusion is that the border space around Utsubo Park has several variations. It includes the type moving directly between park and private sites.
