Abstract
Position error causes serious problems, especially in case of overlaying. It might be fatal when someone wants to make a judgement. This paper deals with effects of positional errors. Relationship between a point and a borderline defined by both end points is examined. First of all, a probability model describes topological relations is introduced. Then a method to estimate probabilities of topological error between a point and a boderline is proposed. A case study representing a judgement is done. The results show that when a point goes near the end point of the borderline, a probability of topological error will increase.
