Abstract
As the strategic approach to reform urban area compactly in local city, to improve the service level of public transportation and to induce various function around traffic centers are paid to attention. In this study, we analyzed the effectiveness of the improvement of service level of public transportation through the use of various statistical data at two time sections in the Toyama light rail project. Moreover, we examined the service level of public transportation which was able to make modal shifts from private cars to the public transportation and to create new trips, by analyzing the user's evaluation of each operation index of the questionnaire survey which was executed by Toyama city.
