Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify the relationship between "open garden" activity and supporting organizations, such as public administration, corporations and public interest groups, and the impact that these groups have on the activity. For seven "open garden" activity groups, a questionnaire survey was conducted on the activity's participants and administrative officers in charge. As a result of the survey, the involvement of supporting organizations was found to: 1) provide the activity's participants with opportunities to interact with one another on a regular and continuous basis, allowing them to increase their recognition of "open garden" activity as well as to acquire information and knowledge; and 2) provide the participants with a positive environment in which to conduct "open garden" activities.
