Abstract

In recent years, many local railway facilities are threatened due to aging society with fewer children and motorization. Therefore, if residents require the survival of the railway, it is indispensable that they support them. This study aims to consider the measures of residents support activity toward the regeneration of local railway based on the questionnaire survey. As a result of analysis, it revealed that the factor of social capital and railway influences the attitude of residents support activity. So, for promoting the support activity, it is important that residents should involve with their community. Also, the result shows that the attitude of residents support activity depends on the support content. In particular, the local residents are cooperative an active support activity, city residents assume a cooperative attitude to information service activities.
