Analysis of the Relation between Complexity and Impression of Street Network

Abstract

This paper analyzed the relation between complexity and impression of street network in urban district. Impression data was collected by the experiments using web system on the smart-phone. Impression consists of 13 evaluation axis and comprehensive evaluation. Space Syntax theory was applied to estimate the complexity of the street. The results shows that landscape of complex space introduce the impression of 'open', 'safe', 'tempting to walk', and comprehensive evaluation of the landscape is high in complex space,
