This study aims at clarifying the method of community management and how this method affects factors of preserving hedges. In this study, we analyzed three cases in historical urban district and found out that in these cases, they maintain motivation for preservation and management of hedges through the cooperation with community which is enabled by interrelation between community organization and preservation society, or succession through property management by incorporating the limited partnership company, or putting visitor's influence to practical use through tourism. Therefore, it is regarded that these methods have possibility for preserving hedges by choosing the method of community management that matches circumstance of the community.
