Abstract
This study estimates subregional car ownership and use in all over Japan to evaluate regional distribution scenarios of population and households. First, we conduct an online questionnaire survey of the location of residence and car ownership and use. Secondly, the location on the survey data is divided into eight location types and it estimates average car ownership of household type and average car use of age cohort in each location type. Next, the estimated data on car ownership and use are scaled up to all national mesh blocks in accordance with national population census in 2010 or population and household distribution scenarios in 2030. In conclusion, we analyze the difference of car ownership and use quantitatively in 2010 and 2030.
