Abstract
The major objectives of this paper are to propose a concept of landscape management labor accounts in urban areas and to estimate them in Nagoya City. First, TLD (total annual labor density (hr/a) for maintenance of green space) is calculated based on information from several interviews. Second, landscape management labor accounts are estimated at a city scale and a district scale by multiplying the calculated TLD with the area of green space. The result shows that green spaces in private detached housing properties and farmlands have high values of total annual labor accounts. In public properties, parks and street trees showed high values. Finally, the population over 65 years old is compared at a district scale. The result shows that districts in the periphery of the city not only aging significantly but also have high annual labor accounts per capita which casts an issue of green space management in the near future.
