Abstract

The purpose of this study is to clarify relationship between the reconstruction after the Showa Sanriku Tsunami and the reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake, and to clarify relationship between spatial transformation in time of peace and reconstruction after the latest tsunami. This research is focus on the village in Iwate prefecture relocated after the Showa Sanriku Tsunami. From the results of this study, the following conclusions can be drawn. Firstly, the relationship between the reconstruction after the Showa tsunami and the reconstruction after the latest tsunami is specified in the topographical special features of the village. Secondly, the tendency of the spatial transformation in time of peace continues also in the reconstruction after latest tsunami.
