Abstract
By 2016 Kumamoto earthquake, many residents in Mashiki town lost their houses and are forced to move into temporary housing. We conducted an interview survey from June to November 2016 and collected data (N=1,196) of their needs and situation. This study analyzed the free answer of this survey focusing on duration of interview and the number and features of word they speak. We found that female and farmer talked on many topics by comparing estimates of duration model and word-count model of interviews. Correspondence analysis revealed that male talked on recovery and reconstruction of town and female talked on their housing and community. These analysis methods can be useful for investigating free answer of future surveys.
