Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze current status of living environment and residents in town center of Namie Town after lifting of evacuation orders based on the results of a questionnaire survey conducted in September 2017. This study clarifies that (1) few residents return Namie Town and there are many vacant houses, (2) commercial facilities and medical facilities are almost closed, (3) most of the returnees are elderly residents, (4) most of the returnees hope to develop commercial services and medical services. This study points out the necessity of reconversion from single line revitalization policies forcing evacuees to return homes to multiple line revitalization policies to ensure evacuees alternatives for returning homes, continuing to evacuate or settling in evacuation destinations.
