Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the conversion plan of former military grounds in the post-war-plan and what kind of position were given to the former military grounds in the former naval port city conversion plan of Kure City. We can point out that the former military grounds were not important for the post-war-plan because few planned open-spaces were in the former military grounds. The former naval port city conversion plan of Kure City had the list of conversion plan of the former military grounds. We found that the main uses by conversion were industrial facilities, and some of them were houses, medical facilities, educational facilities and parks. We can point out that there were many plans that inherit the same uses from the military and that use the former military buildings.
