Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the utilization method of vacant houses by matching with community development activities through a case study on "Setagaya model project". This project promotes to match between an owner of a vacant house and an organization for community contribution activities and to fund for establishing an activity place including remodeling vacant houses. The actual conditions and problems of this model were investigated by interviews with community contributing activity groups and vacant house owners and by observation survey. As a result, the owner's understanding for community contributing activities is necessary for the matching to succeed, and the funding for the initial maintenance of vacant house is effective. As a subject, the support for business continuity and a link to the community is necessary for community contributing activities groups.
