Abstract
This study investigates the potential of the public facility reorganization centered around schools, as a way to maintain the convenience of suburban life. From the interviews with three local governments and the residents in Koganehara area in Matsuo City, the following three points were found: 1) All of three local governments are now examining the methods of reorganization and the civic participation for future concentration of the public facility renewal. 2) In the discussion in a municipality scale, it is possible to discuss specifically with multi-generations, avoiding specifical arguments of each facilities. 3) In the case without enough cooperation between departments in local government, "Residents-led approach" is an effective way of facility reorganization.
