Abstract
Currently, mitigating urban warming is an important issue in urban planning. In coastal cities, it is expected the cool sea breeze in the city area is effective for the mitigation. Therefore, authors analyzed the factors of the local wind environment and the influence of the wind speed on the temperature distribution in Kannai, Kangai district in Yokohama. Then, authors also considered an urban design model for improving the ventilation. Results demonstrates the following: (1) The east wind has effect on the temperature distribution in the morning. (2) Stronger wind blows in the area less than 1000m from the coastline. (3) Two dimensional urban planning factors have effect on the wind speed. (4) The local ventilation will be improved by adopting countermeasures for each characteristics of urban forms.
