Abstract
According to the statistics of the number of deaths by road type, the rate of decrease in the number of deaths and injuries of roads (living roads) with a roadway width of less than 5.5 m is smaller than that of arterial roads. In Japan, many studies are about traffic safety, but no reseasrches have shown that based on biological reactions , whether the stress response and the consciousness of the driver share a similar reaction. In this research, the authors conducted a survey on driver's stress awareness, and examined how the street condition / pedestrian's characteristics affect the driver's stress consciousness. Also, examined whether there is a difference in stress consciousness factors among individual characteristics. As a result, it became clear that the walking position of pedestrians, the presence of sidewalks and side street belts greatly affected stress consciousness.
