Abstract
In Japan, the number of fatal traffic accidents on residential streets is fluctuating, not showing stable decrease. It's important to ensure traffic safety on residential streets which are used by residents on daily basis. In this study, the status quo and the purpose of colored pavement on residential streets is studied. As a result, it was revealed that the most influential factor affects colored pavement on the roadside of residential streets is the introduction of zone countermeasures. in addition, if the importance of safety measures for pedestrians is high, tendency of introduction of zone countermeasures will be higher. And as a result, tendency of introduction of colored pavement on the roadside will be higher.
