Abstract
The purpose of this research is to analyze the activities of "Urban Data Challenge (UDC)" to clarify the actual condition of various civic technology activities in Japan and to clarify the trend of application creation. It is clear that UDC is not limited to Ideathon and Hackathon which had been done in the application development contest in Japan for the many times, and a wide range of activities tailored to local circumstances are being carried out. Moreover, it was found that highly valued works have aspects linked to continuous regional lateral development and the next year's award.
