Abstract
Large suburban new-towns have been developed in Japan since the period of rapid economic growth. However, for early ones, approximately 50 years have passed since their construction and problem of aging population is pointed out. In this situation, urban space responding to the aging society is needed in order to make elderly people continue walking for their health. This paper clarifies the change in going-out activity as the physical performance decline and factors of walking-continuity of elderly people through interviews to elderly people in good health and in need of nursing care.
