Abstract
It has been said that residents' educational ability has declined in Japan. Although there are various factors in this background, it is thought that it is necessary to reconsider how interaction with children in local communities should be formulated. Therefore, in this study, the influence of childhood experiences in local community on child's development were examined. The results show that exchanges in daily life and participation in community activities are important factors on child's development, on the other hand bad experiences are not. The results also show the following; that they had experienced various childhood activities in local community when they were schoolchildren, and experienced exchanges with community residents in daily life when they were junior high school students and high school students, are important factors on their social capital formation.
