Abstract
For the three roofed town plazas provided in snowy Hokuriku region, this study clarifies the number of users and the user characteristic on the weekday with the consideration of the condition of management and operation and the change by season, and examines the matter considered at newly providing the plaza and the measures for an increase of visitors. As a result of the analysis, the roofed town plazas have constant inflow of people regardless of the season and are effective in the local cities where the weather condition is bad on many days. However, the new provision of plaza needs to match with the peripheral environment and the needs of expected main user it because the use of the plaza is different depending on the location characteristic. Moreover, to promote use on the weekday, it is necessary to prepare the sitting space with the consideration of the temperature, sunshiny and arranging so that a regular user in the vicinity who is the main user can take a rest easily.
