Abstract
The Kumamoto earthquake occurred on April 14th and April 16th, the maximum seismic intensity 7 was observed. The lifeline of electricity, gas, water, etc. and the traffic infrastructure such as airports, roads, railroads, etc. suffered serious damage. Regarding the physical damage situation such as traffic infrastructure, the actual conditions were clarified by the investigation, but the influence on the wide area traffic flow is not sufficiently clear. Therefore, in this research, we investigated the damage caused by the road closure after the Kumamoto earthquake throughout Kyushu. Using the data on traffic regulations in the road network and trip distribution of Kyushu area, the traffic flow on 26 stages of recovery after earthquake were calculated, and clarified the temporal change of wide area traffic flow and time loss due to the influence of the Kumamoto earthquake.
