Abstract
There are now 99 disaster prevention piers completed where water transportation is arranged to function as an alternative to land transportation in emergency situation. They are located exhaustively in the waterside area of Tokyo, but it is unclear to how well it will actually function because the amount of shipping and destination are not assumed. In this research, I evaluated the emergency function of each disaster prevention piers using hearing survey and ArcGIS. As a result, it was possible to extract important bases in transportation, and it became clear that more than half of the disaster-prevention piers have not been improperly developed. It was also revealed that there are disaster-prevention piers that are not utilized. After examining the possibility of re-maintenance, I summarized the future way of the disaster prevention piers.
