Abstract

The opening of a high-speed Maglev in Japan is expected to contribute to developing a regional network for tourism, but it is skeptical whether it can promote sightseeing for multi destinations on a regional scale. This is attributed to problems not only to regional transport but also to spatial and information systems. This study aims to explore latent preferences for regional tourism with multi destinations in Mie prefecture under the scenario of Maglev use, using SNS data analysis and a questionnaire survey about sightseeing places and transport access. It has revealed willingness levels to visit each of the sightseeing places in Mie, considering the impact of Maglev use.
