The propose of this paper is to clarify the actual landscape of waterside architecture in the Komagata district of Tokyo in order to promote the spread of waterside architecture that enhances the riverside landscape. The conclusions are as follows. 1) There are four types of waterfront architecture elements. 2) Residential and commercial buildings are the most common uses of waterside architecture. Most of them are newly constructed, but there are also a certain number of renovations. 3) The increase in waterside architecture is related to the increase in waterside restaurants. 4) There are four types of waterfront restaurants. New construction and renovation account for about half each. Urban planning measures are needed to improve the landscape along rivers, involving citizens and businesses.
