Abstract

The level of medical services in a city is estimated by facilities in the immediate and surrounding cities by use of a transportation network. Both medical facilities and the transportation network should be coordinated efficiently in oder to adapt in response to damaging events.
The purpose of this paper is to present the design method of a 2-redundant highway network assuring the arrival at a central medical facility. The goal is to design a highway network so that the driver can choose another medical facility or an alternative route to the original medical facility.
Some calculated results on highway networks in Yamaguchi prefecture are shown by using the hybrid type genetic algorithm.
