Initiatives for Promoting Cooperative Freight Transport Systems

Abstract

Cooperative freight transport is one of the basic strategies to realize sustainable urban freight transport. This paper focuses on the measures that effectively lead companies to introduce cooperative freight transport systems. In order to clarify the relationship between the attitudes of companies towards introducing cooperative freight transport systems and those measures, the covariance structure analysis was applied using the data collected by means of questionnaires. Results showed that construction of freight transport terminals plays an important role to disseminate cooperative freight transport systems.
