Abstract

The authors proposed an Asian-ranged model of international container shipping including domestic land/sea transport in Japan. In this model, we consider about the activities for domestic shippers or freight forwarders to select ports and shipping companies which they utilize. By the model, we can analyze the competition among ports in Japan, the role of each port and the effect of port improvement. And we chose GSO hypothesis as a assignment rule of the network, by the best fitness to reality, which is a complex method with user equilibrium assignment on the whole network and the per-group (of shipping company) system optimum assignment on international sea-flow.
