Abstract
In large railway station plaza, the pedestrian crossing bridge is often constructed in order to separate pedestrians and cars. Then many people must go up and down the stairs. So the perpendicular movement facilities are recently arranged. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the walking route considering the perpendicular movement facilities. Firstly, this paper structures the evaluation model for the location of elevators and escalators. Secondly, by the model, this paper analyzes the waking route of disabled people, and depicts the characteristics and variables to affect the walking route. Finally, the improvements of the detours are considered.
