Abstract
This study aims to examine the applicability of bus-based transit system which utilizes the exclusive busway. In this study, the authors evaluate the substantial capacity of exclusive busway quantitatively with various inputs, such as service characteristics and reduction of dwelling time at bus stops by changing boarding and alighting system and by improving bus stop design. This paper conclude that the high frequency bus service can be provided by the designed operation at the bus stop, and that the bus-based transit system which utilizes the exclusive busway became feasible with by the cost less than the existing line haul system.
