Analyses on Vehicular Behavior and Traffic Accidents at Unsignalized Intersections in a Residential Area

Abstract

This study tries to analyze the relationship between traffic accident and driving environment factors with considering the vehicular behavior at unsignalized intersection in a residential area. This study applies path analysis which is applicable to the analysis of causal relationship in complex systems. Data obtained in Toyohashi city are used in the analysis. As a result, the causal relationships among driving environment factors, vehicular behavior and traffic accident are analyzed quantitatively.
