Effectiveness of Awareness Campaign on Rat-runners Application of Mobility Management Methodology to Reduce Through Traffic

Abstract

In this paper, the authors propose “rut runner MM” as a communication method to reduce through traffic by residents' power. As a result of a social experiment conducted in a dangerous urban street, it was found that the traffic volume had reduced by about 10%. It was also found that this effort was not suffered from opposition from other residents proving the effectiveness as a community participation measure.
