Abstract
We first calculate the total CO2 emission from scheduled civil aviation in 2005 and then the future forecast of CO2 emission for every five years towards 2050 is conducted. The estimation of future traffic is followed by the calculation of the future CO2 emission. The estimated total CO2 emission in 2005 and 2050 is 630.3 Tg and 3944.2 Tg respectively. The distribution of CO2 emission is discussed from the geographical perspective. The current CO2 emission is concentrated in North America, Europe, and Asia; however, a significant increase in CO2 emission is expected in Asia and Africa.
