Abstract
Since underground utilization in urban area is becoming deeper and deeper, both precise linear control and high accuracy of erected segments are indispensable to construct deep underground tunnels. In this point, automatic tunneling system with capability of sensitive posture control and quick response to swerves from the target points are being developed nowadays. However, to meet with severer specifications in the future, continuous efforts to renovate new systems, reacting relative position between the shield machine and segments, are highly required as mentioned in this paper.
