On August 11th 1993, our library became connected to the NACSIS (Gakujutsujoho Center), which means that we have now completed the library automation system that was started in 1987. The library, however, as seen from the viewpoint of a multifunctional information provider, should further deal with such tasks as the campus LAN (local area network) and the best way to manage audio-vidual materials. The following report includes two descriptions; how the library work has evolved and how much the service for users has been improved in terms of the library automation in a pharmacutical university.
