It was clarified in the former report that the characteristic change in the vesical function was observed response to the section of various nerves innervated to the urinary bladder. And furthermore it was assumed that the spinal ganglion of sacral nerve might have some significant role on the vesical function.
Now, to clarify the affect of the sacral spinal ganglion on the vesical function, the cystometrogram was examined on the adult dog received selective resection of that ganglions, while the effect of bilateral section of the pelvic nerves following to the section of the spinal nerve root was observed. The results otained was as follows:
1) Following the resection of the spinal ganglion, the increase of vesical inner pressure, autonomic contraction wave, and the contractive elevation of the inner pressure at micturition were observed in the cystometrogram, and the vesical function was significantly improved.
2) with the bilateral section of pelvic nerve following the section of the spinal nerve root, the atonic state of the urinary bladder was improved and changed into rather hypertonic state.
