I. A 48-year-old man is described with an renal arteriovenous fistula secondary to a renal cell carcinoma of the left kidney. The invasion of the tumor thrombus into the remarkably dilated main renal vein was demonstrated preoperatively by retrograde femoral arteriography, and was removed by careful operative procedure.
II. This case is the 14th case of malignant renal arteriovenous fistula, and the literatures described 125 cases of various renal arteriovenous fistulas were briefly discussed, furthermore, a new etiological and clinical classification of arteriovenous fistula (Table 1) was presented.
