Abstract
1) Aseptic cultures of trichomonas vaginalis were carried out with a fructose containing medium. The amount of fructose markedly decreased with the increasing numbers of the parasite.
2) Aseptically cultured trichomonas vaginalis were inoculated into the prostate glands of intreated matured male rats. Infection of trichomonas vaginalis was established in 18 out of 56 inoculated cases and its infection was maintained up to 15 days. proliferation of the parasite within the prostate gland was expected in 12 cases in which the infection was maintained over one week.
3) The amount of fructose in the right side lobe of the prostate, in which trichomonas vaginalis were inoculated, was lesser than that in the left side lobe, which was untreated.
