Abstract

Motion perception is a function that captures temporal modulation/change in spatial structure and is an indispensable visual function for detecting the movement of objects. In this paper, I will give an overview of the basic discussions related to visual motion, which are necessary for understanding the latest research on it. The first section introduces the basic knowledge and a typical computational model for local motion detection, and the second section introduces the motion integration process and various perceptual phenomena related to it.
