Effect of Natural Frequency Distribution on Retrieval States in Coupled Oscillators

Effects of a distribution of natural frequencies of oscillatory elements constituting a phase memory system are investigated theoretically. It is found that the distribution causes considerable effects on the storage capacity (α _c) and on the dynamics of the retrieval states. The obtained state diagram shows the decrease of α _c with the introduction of the distribution. The distribution also leads to an oscillation of the overlap.
