Application of the Thin-Wing-Expansion Method to the Compressible Flow past a Kaplan Bump

About ten years ago Kaplan calculated the velocity distribution over a certain cusped aerofoil set in a compressible flow as far as O(t3), t being the thickness ratio. Here the same problem is reinvestigated by use of the thin-wing-expansion method due to Imai, which is believed to be more convenient than the usual perturbation method. Both results completely agree with each other in the analytical expressions, although the labour is considerably less in the present analysis than Kaplan’s.
