Breakup of Deuterons by the Reactions H(d, p)pn with Ed=18 MeV and D(p, p)pn with Ep=9 MeV

The energy spectra of protons from the reactions H(d, p)pn with Ed=18 MeV and D(p, p)pn with Ep=9 MeV have been measured as a function of angle. After conversion to the c.m. system, the shapes of the spectra have been examined in connection with pair interaction between nucleons in the final state. The differential cross section of protons emitted by the reaction p+dp+p+n has a minimum at about 120° similar to the cross section of p+d elastic scattering.
