The energy loss by an equidistant sequence of charges moving fast in a straight line is calculated in the unified theory of relaxations in plasmas. The rate of energy loss in the absence of any magnetic field has sharp maxima when sΩ is equal to the plasma frequency, Ω being the frequency of the periodic passage, and s being any integer.
